And so it was the cruel summer heat wave that took us our separate ways
It felt exciting, stepping out alone like that after so long
Destined for the dancefloor and a big bag of CIA special… or maybe even something entirely new…
And yet who was I kidding, turning my shoulder to look back at you

Thunderclaps cause the heavens much dismay
For unlike the Gods, the architects only see their collective future darkly
Prompting raiment for a cancelled masquerade party
And so let this cadenced clarification add even more colour to my own personal pantomime
That I finally let you go on the solstice
